While we curse our domestic swill, the boys up north happily quaff down Labatt, their homeland's version of Miller Highlife. But Labatt is vastly superior to run-of-the-mill American brew. Maybe it's just the slightly murky bouquet, but Labatt is slightly reminiscent of a brown-bottled Becks -- a description which is obviously complimentary. The Labatt variety you'll find in your local supermarket will most likely be Blue, which is Canada's best selling beer. For the alcoholic or the steroid-pumped Cuban guido, Labatt also offers Ice and Dry, which have higher alcohol content. Read more articles in Beer Garden » |
